Tri Dharma Tegal Foundation is the oldest community organization in Tegal District. The history is very long, formed from the merger of 2 (two) organizations of ancient society, namely:

1. Tiong Hoa Community Organization called TJIN DJIN BIO which was founded in 1760. In 1837, TJIN DJIN BIO changed its name to TEK HAY KIONG and exists until now.

 2. Tiong Hoa Community Organization named TIONG HOA HWEE KOAN which was founded in 1906, is engaged in Education.

In March 1942, Japan occupied the Dutch East Indies and became the Japanese Military Government. In Tegal City, the Japanese Government issued a regulation freezing all Chinese Organizations, except TEK HAY KIONG and Tiong Hoa HWEE KOAN. These two organizations were merged and named TIONGKOK DJIN HUI, this name was later changed to KAKYO SHOKAI or in Chinese, HUA JIAO ZONG HUI.

In 1945, after Indonesia’s independence, KAKYO SHOKAI was replaced again to CHUNG HUA TSUNG HUI. Due to the state of the political situation, CHUNG HUA TURNED THE HUI then changed its name again to PERMAT.

On October 5, 1978, PERMAT was registered as a Foundation with the Tri Dharma Tegal Foundation and renewed the Notary Act of October 6, 2006 in accordance with RI Law No. 16 th 2001.
